Some exciting opportunities have arisen to join the innovative Kent Young Persons’ drug and alcohol service as a CBT therapist supporting young people, aged under 18. The young people you support will have additional vulnerabilities, they may have accessed With You support regarding their drug and alcohol use and or mental health needs and may also be working with the Youth Offending Service (YOT) and or Early Help. In particular the young people you will support are those at risk of, or involved in, serious youth violence.
The service is involved with the CYP IAPT programme at the Anna Freud Centre and we are aligned to the CYP IAPT principles. These are new roles for the service so we are looking for people with enthusiasm and drive to help shape the future vision of CBT within the voluntary sector. We have a few vacancies so you will be working amongst other, like-minded, CYP CBT therapists.
The therapeutic support you offer will be peripatetic meaning it is in a location that meets the needs of the individual young person. Your sessions may be in person but we also have the facility for remote support.
We work in accordance with the NHS’s IAPT Manual and as such you will deliver no more than 20 clinical hours in a week. You will receive weekly clinical supervision as well as group reflective practice. We will support opportunities for you to attend any training required for your continuing professional development.
